Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions relating to the ZUBEDO social-media site, then please email questions@zubedo.com and we’ll attempt to answer them and include them on this FAQ page. To help get things started, we’ve provided outline answers to some of the more common questions that have been asked by our global ZUBEDO user base.

What is ZUBEDO all about?

ZUBEDO is a next generation social-media site that provides a low cost distribution platform for media creators and consumers alike. But it’s unlike any other video sharing or social media site that you may have visited or registered with.

Firstly, the ZUBEDO Member Benefits Scheme allocates a number of reward points (called ZUBIGES) to all users upon initial registration. These reward points are increased every time an invited friend subsequently registers with ZUBEDO. Individual member reward points can also be increased by taking part in the ZUBEDO beta test programme, as well as by joining your respective ZUBEDO country team. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, the ZUBIGES reward points will be converted into ZUBEDO shares (we’re currently taking advice from our legal and financial advisors in terms of how best to achieve this), thereby benefitting and rewarding the registered users of the ZUBEDO site.

Secondly, ZUBEDO members own the media content that they upload to the ZUBEDO site, and unlike other sites, they are able to determine how they distribute and price their media, whether on a free-to-view, pay-to-download, or ad-revenue shared basis. When a ZUBEDO user uploads media content on either a pay-to-view or ad-revenue sharing basis, they will receive income from their content, either from the sale of the content as and when it is purchased by other ZUBEDOERS (pay-to-download basis) or from revenues derived from adverts associated with their media as and when it is viewed by other ZUBEDOERS (ad-revenue sharing basis). Either way, media owners, producers and creators get to directly control and share in the value that their content generates.

Thirdly, ZUBEDO propagates uploaded media content onto other social-networking sites through open integration protocols (known as API’s). This is great news if you’re a fan of Twitter or Facebook, as every time you upload content through your ZUBEDO profile, it will be pushed into your respective Facebook or Twitter news feeds, being accessible by your wider social peer group, as well as the wider global Facebook and Twitter user base (depending on your privacy settings). ZUBEDO’s media exchange API allows you to market your media through the global social-media community, significantly increasing the commercialisation and monetisation of your media.

For these and other reasons, we believe that ZUBEDO is a revolutionary concept! We’ll let you decide where to upload your content in the future, and where to invite your friends. However, we’re hopeful that the ZUBEDO member Benefits Scheme, along with the media revenue generation opportunities will result in a mass migration of media creators to the ZUBEDO social-media distribution platform. And remember, this is just the start. We’re hard at work on new innovative technologies that will allow you to commercialise or monetise your media in exciting new ways.

Can we change the digital media landscape?

Of course we can! The online world is changing, and ZUBEDO is proposing to lead the way with its media distribution platform, innovative Member Benefits Scheme and media revenue generating opportunities. So why not join the next online evolution, and help us change the way in which digital media, in all of its wonderful forms, is conceived, created, distributed, managed and owned. Whether you’re a media creator or a media consumer simply register for free with ZUBEDO now. It's easy to do, there's no catch, and it only takes a few minutes.

And once you've registered with ZUBEDO, you'll find a media world like no other. Unlike other media sites, you’ll be able to really personalise your digital media experience, subscribing to media creators that are of interest to you, receiving media alerts and updates directly through your social profile. As a media owner or creator, you’ll also be able to create your very own media store, where media consumers will be able to search for and access your latest media creations. Moreover, media owners and creators are able to determine how they distribute and price their media, deriving income from the sale of their content and/or advertising revenues associated with their content. We believe that these simple concepts will help ZUBEDO to attract a global media user base, which will ultimately benefit all of its users through ZUBEDO’s innovative Member Benefits Scheme. Now, that’s what we call a radical change!

Can I become famous with ZUBEDO?

Why not? With ZUBEDO you can collaborate, create, distribute, sell and manage your very own unique digital media. Once you’ve uploaded your media to ZUBEDO, you can decide not only how to distribute it (free-to-view, pay-to-download, or ad-revenue share) but also who to distribute it to (your followers, your ZUBEDO social peer group, the wider global social-media community). The world is literally your media oyster! The wider your social-peer group, the more known you’ll become. And remember, all media uploaded to ZUBEDO enters the official online digital ZUBEDO charts, which are listed by views as well as sales. So you could become famous locally in your own country, or globally, topping the ZUBEDO charts in multiple countries.

Can I set up my own online media store?

ZUBEDO allows registered users to upload media through their profile, and then create their very own online media store (go to your profile page, and then access the media “upload manager”). The media store feature allows your friends, along with the ZUBEDO, and wider global social-media user base to directly access your media through your profile page. Media creators use the media upload manager to control how media consumers access their media (free-to-view, pay-to-download and ad-revenue share), as well as setting the price for individual media files or albums in the case of pay-to-download content. Moreover, media consumers are able to personalise their media experience, directly accessing media creators’ profiles and media stores, as well as receiving media content alerts from media creators that they like, and selected, highly targeted social-related adverts. This personalised media experience significantly increases average dwell times, and results in greater monetisation of your media.

Can I help promote and work with ZUBEDO?

Of course you can! ZUBEDO actively encourages and rewards its registered user base to help promote the site, working with its senior management team that is based in London, United Kingdom. If you’d like to get to know the people behind Zubedo, and help them grow Zubedo globally, then please apply to join the Zubedo Country Team Programme. So, what are you waiting for, email us now at countryteams@zubedo.com, and help us change the online world forever!

Is ZUBEDO suitable for younger persons?

ZUBEDO was partly conceived with the help of younger persons, through special younger person focus groups. ZUBEDO subscribes to industry best practice in relation to younger persons’ using the internet, and has direct links to the CEOP (Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre) website. These features allow younger persons to report abuse, or directly interface with a CEOP representative if they feel threatened whilst online.

ZUBEDO also encourages adults and legal guardians to get involved in creating and monitoring the user accounts of younger persons under their control or direction. In this sense, it should be noted that parents are able to increase their ZUBIGES reward points by registering family members, some of whom may be under the age of 16, recognising that these individuals consume approximately 10% of all media purchased online, and that it is therefore better for this to happen in a more controlled and moderated environment such as ZUBEDO. ZUBEDO also welcomes parents or legal guardians shadowing the user accounts of younger persons under their control or direction, with a view to ensuring that these younger persons are interacting in a safe way. If you require more information about this, then please email info@zubedo.com
